Toby Paterson This is one print from a series of six different images making up the suite entitled ‘Patterns’. Each colour has been meticulously positioned including the flat colour used for the background. This amount of flat colour is recognised as being amongst the hardest things to do in screenprinting. Toby Paterson (b. 1974) lives and works in Glasgow and is one of Scotland's most successful young artists. He has exhibited extensively throughout the world including solo exhibitions in Glasgow, London, The Hague, Paris and Turin. He won the Beck’s Futures Prize in 2002 and continues to paint his signature architectural images in a stunning array of sizes and locations. In 2007 he completed a substantial commission for the façade of the new BBC headquarters in Glasgow.
